Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Bob Roberts established Roberts Insurance and Investments in 1971. Bob began working in the insurance business in 1970 and recently celebrated his 50th year in the business. He has worked with the KHSAA for over 30 years. Bob came to the aid of the Association in the early 1990s with the collapse of the self-insured student accident insurance program through the NFHS. Roberts Insurance is an independent, family owned and operated insurance and investment agency located in Richmond Kentucky. Bob was born in Clay County and played baseball and basketball for the Clay County Tigers. He attended Eastern Kentucky University, and is a member of the EKU Hall of Distinguished Alumni. Bob is proud to be from Eastern Kentucky and has been a constant supporter of charities that give back to students from the mountains. Bob and his wife Cathy attended their first state tournament together in 1986. They started scholarships for both the KHSAA and All A basketball tournaments to help students attend college. The Roberts Insurance family continues to give to the state and community as the preesnting sponsor of the Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame banquet.
