Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:

In Jason\\\'s 12 year head coaching career he won 5 boys regional titles at two different schools(Shelby Valley and Covington Holmes) in two different regions(15th and 9th). He won the All \\\"A\\\" State Championship with Shelby Valley in 2009 and 2010. He won the KHSAA Boys\\\' State Championship in 2010 with Shelby Valley. Jason is the only boys\\\' basketball coach to win the All \\\"A\\\" State Championship and the KHSAA State Championship in the same basketball season. Jason is also the only boys\\\' basketball head coach to ever win the KHSAA State Championship in the tradition rich area of Pikeville and Pike County. Jason was also an assistant coach on boys\\\' basketball teams that won 4 other regional championships at Corbin, North Hardin, Shelby Valley and Pikeville. As a player, Jason played in 2 KHSAA State Tournaments for North Hardin High School in 1990 and 1991. In total, Jason participated in 11 KHSAA State Tournaments, which is an unbelievable accomplishment. As the Head Coach of Shelby Valley High School and Covington Holmes High School, Jason took both teams to the Stop DWI Classic in New York. After attending the tournament, he brought the tournament to Covington Holmes as the only tournament in Kentucky of its kind. While at the tournament in New York, where he was the keynote speaker both times, and during its time at Covington Holmes, Jason was able to share his testimony of \\\"From Tragedy to Championships\\\", which is about Jason\\\'s experience of surviving the Carrolton Bus Crash in 1988 and how it impacted his life. He speaks to thousands of KY students each year. Jason was also the Vice President of the KABC in 2014. Jason negotiated the first contract with Appalachian Wireless Arena to secure more funding for 15th region schools from the regional tournament than ever before. The base was $50,000 to split amongst all region schools with attendance incentives for more. It has been there ever since the contract started.
