Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Richard Greene played at the original Dunbar High School from 1959-64 during the Segregation era when no school in Kentucky would play them except other black schools. Despite those restrictions, he was an accomplished quarterback who earned a college scholarship to Langston University in Langston, Okla. He earned a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys but was unsuccessful at making the team. He went on to become a Kentucky teacher and eventually became a Principal of a Lexington Middle School. The University of Kentucky College of Education has inducted Richard Greene into the Alumni Hall of Fame.
